2008 Race a huge success

Our 12th annual Race for the Cure event held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Gateway in Salt Lake City was our most successful yet!  The day was set for success as the clouds parted and the sun was shining down on the 17,299 walkers, runners and strollers that attended the event.  This was the highest participation number to date, up from last year's 16,400.  Of that number 752 were registered as breast cancer survivors as evidenced from the sea of pink spread throughout the event.  The Race generated over $646,000 which includes Race registration fees, sponsor cash and participant donations.  The Salt Lake City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® would like to thank all who donated for their generosity.  Additionally they would like to thank all of the sponsors, volunteers, staff and especially the Race committee members who gave countless hours of their lives to make this great Race a huge success!
